Gooch and Housego unique superpolishing capabilities allow us to produce optics suitable for the extreme demands of X-ray and Synchrotron environments. Optical components for these applications must have very low scatter surfaces and our 1Å surface roughness components are ideal. The optics used in these systems are often tapered in shape and our shaping and cutting equipment can support these demands. Many of the components for these applications are made of silicon and we often have overstock on parts that we have manufactured.
