Gooch & Housego the world leading optical component manufacturer announced today it has opened a new European Sales Office in Munich, Germany.

Graham Catley, Gooch & Housego's European Sales Director commented "Gooch & Housego is continuing the investment into our global sales force and opening a sales office in Southern Germany is considered by us to be an important step".

Graham added"At a time of global economic uncertainty it is important to support our customer base by having strong local representation near our key accounts, which we have done by opening our Munich office. As the economy recovers then we are prepared for the expected return to growth by placing the correct focus on the regions of expected investment and our key accounts".

Dr Ekkehard Overbeck, Gooch & Housego's recently appointed Central European Sales Account Manager and the person who will head up the Munich Sales Office is extremely excited about the future, in his words "My goal is to bring together applications of the customers with the product capabilities of our 8 manufacturing & R&D sites". Ekkehard has 11 years of sales experience working with optoelectronic components and systems.
