Launch of the High Power Fibre Coupled Isolator
13th November 2008 - Gooch & Housego, a leading global manufacturer of high power laser components, has launched a high power Fibre Coupled Isolator specifically for the pulsed Fibre Laser Market. This compliments their existing portfolio of high power fibre laser components that includes multimode fibre combiners, tap couplers and wavelength combiners in single mode fibre as well as a range of fibre coupled acousto-optic modulators and Q-switches.
The FIBO (fibre-in-beam-out) isolator, used at the final output of a high power fibre laser system to isolate the amplifier system from back reflections, is a fibre to free space, polarization insensitive device designed to be used in systems with average powers in excess of 20W. Further information about the Isolator range and other high power laser components will be available from the Gooch & Housego booth (#715) at Photonics West Exhibition, San Jose, CA, USA on 27th - 29th January 2009.
"This FIBO device is the first in a range of optical isolators that will be offered by Gooch and Housego. The addition of our optical isolator range further strengthens the Gooch and Housego product offering to the high power fibre laser market. " explained Dr Andrew Robertson, Gooch & Housego Director of Product Management
